Abraham Peter

Born in Lodz in 1928

After the ghetto and 3 months in Cyprus, he finally arrived in Israel Summer 1946. He was enrolled in the aviation forces which, because of the embargo, basically came down to trying to put airplane pieces together in order to have any air force at all. “If I have to remember one thing about 1948, it is the sense of unity. It wasn’t a matter of winning this war. It was a matter of survival.”
