Born in Poland on November 24th, 1913
Meet my oldest YOUTH OF 1948 to date, Yitzhak Pundak 104 years old! Born in Poland in 1913, arrived in Israel in 1933. General Major of the Haganah. Under the British the Turkish law was kept: if a shed had a wall and a roof it was considered a house and thus forbidden to destroy. So as the Jews weren’t allowed to build new settlements in the South he came up with a plan to build not 1 but 12! Over Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year, the British truly didn’t expect Jews to be working. So overnight in 48 hours Yitzhak organised for these 12 new villages to rise from the Earth. I have many more stories from Yitzhak, happy and sad ones, 104 years old and a perfect memory!
